Recallab › FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Short answers. Longer explanations of how each part of the app works are in the guide.
Getting started
Is Recallab free?
Ten questions a day are free, permanently, on a free account and with no card. Those questions are the same ones everyone else gets, with the same explanations, illustrations and references. Paid plans remove the daily cap and add the modes built out of your own answers.
Do I need an account?
Yes — a free one. Questions are answered from an account, and it is also what lets your history follow you between devices. An account takes an email and a password, and needs no card.
Is there an app to download?
No. Recallab runs in the browser and installs to your home screen from there — Share then Add to Home Screen on iPhone, or Install app from the Chrome menu on Android. There is no App Store or Play Store download, and nothing to update.
Does it work offline?
Not yet. Questions are fetched as you go and answers are recorded on the server, which is what lets you start on a phone and carry on the laptop. Offline packs are planned but not built, and this page will say so until they are.
The question bank
How many questions are there?
993 at the time of writing, and the number in the app is always the live one — it is read from the database on every load, so the Apps screen is the figure to trust. The bank grows batch by batch.
Are these previous years' NEET PG questions?
No, and that matters. NEET PG papers are not released, so anything sold as a genuine past paper is a reconstruction from candidate recall. Recallab's questions are written against the same syllabus and patterned on how the exam asks things, then checked before they go live.
Are the explanations referenced?
Yes — each carries a reference to a current edition. Titles are cited without chapter numbers, because a chapter number that has moved between editions is worse than no chapter number.
Does every question have a picture?
Almost every explanation has an illustration drawn for it. A smaller set of questions carry a figure in the question itself — a radiograph or a specimen you answer from — and Spot Diagnosis deals only those.
Does it cover INI-CET too?
Yes. INI-CET is run separately by AIIMS and uses a different paper pattern, but it draws on the same syllabus, so the bank serves both. The mock exam follows the NEET PG pattern.
I think an answer is wrong.
Tell us — the contact page reaches a person. Include the question number shown on the card as ID #. Corrections are made against the reference, and a genuinely wrong key is a bug we want to know about.
How the practice works
What is the confidence rating for?
Sure, Think so or Guess, chosen before you answer. It powers False Certainty and Lucky Guesses, neither of which can find anything if you never use it, and it changes how soon a question comes back for review. It is optional, and it is the single highest-value habit in the app.
How does Due Today decide when a question comes back?
From whether you got it right and how sure you said you were. Right and sure waits a long time; wrong comes back soon; right but guessed comes back sooner than a confident correct answer would. It schedules the question itself, from what you actually did — not a card you grade afterwards.
Is Due Today the same as Anki?
No. Anki schedules flashcards on a grade you give yourself after seeing the answer. Due Today schedules questions on evidence already recorded — the option you picked and the confidence you declared at the time. It is deliberately not FSRS.
What is the difference between Second Chance and Blind Spots?
Second Chance is everything you have got wrong and not yet put right — a question leaves it when you answer it correctly. Blind Spots is narrower and harder: questions you have missed more often than you have hit, which takes several attempts to establish.
Can I practise one subject at a time?
Yes. The High yield screener (Premium) can be narrowed to a subject, a topic or a chapter, and Build a module lets you combine any set of subjects with a pool and a length, with a live count of how many questions match before you start.
The mock exam
What pattern does the mock exam follow?
One NEET PG section: 36 questions in 42 minutes, marked +4 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong one and 0 for a blank. The real paper is five such sections, 180 questions in 3 hours 30 minutes, and its sections lock — once submitted you cannot return to one.
What happens if I close the tab mid-exam?
The clock keeps running. It is kept by the server, not your browser, precisely so that closing a tab is not a way to buy time. Reopening puts you back where you left off with the remaining time intact.
Should I guess when I do not know?
With four options and +4/−1, a blind guess averages zero — you gain 4 one time in four and lose 1 the other three. It is neither clever nor costly. Eliminate even one option and guessing becomes positive. Leaving a question blank is the right move only when you cannot rule anything out.
Is NEET PG scored on a percentile?
Results are reported as a percentile, so what matters is your position against everyone who sat that paper rather than your raw mark. A hard paper moves everyone's raw score down together and changes the percentile far less than it feels like it should.
AI features
Is there an AI Mentor?
Yes. Ask Mentor sits under the explanation once you have answered, and teaches from that question and its approved explanation. If you got it wrong, it starts from the answer you chose — that is Why I got it wrong. Professor’s take gives one longer, structured answer per question. During Founding Access, until 1 January 2027, every account with a confirmed email can use all three: up to 1,800 Mentor messages and 120 Professor’s takes over the period. See the AI features.
Will it make things up?
It is constrained to the explanation already written and approved for that question, which is the whole point of the design — it rephrases, compares and breaks down what is there rather than generating medical content of its own. That is also why it can only be used after you have answered.
What about Memory cards and Pro Learner Insights?
Both are live. Memory cards are part of Premium and Pro Learner Insights is part of Pro Learner. During Founding Access, until 1 January 2027, every account with a confirmed email can use both.
Account, plans and billing
What do the plans cost?
Current prices are on the pricing page. They are quoted in one place on purpose, so a figure here cannot go stale and contradict it.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — see the money-back guarantee for what it covers and how long you have.
How do I pay from India?
Payment is handled by a merchant of record, which is what allows Indian cards and local methods to work against a UK company. You are charged in your own currency.
I have forgotten my password.
Use the reset link on the sign-in dialog. The link that arrives is a credential, so it is taken out of the address bar as soon as it is used and does not linger in your history or bookmarks.
How do I cancel?
From the billing section on your Profile. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access running to the end of the period you have already paid for.
